We started on the new mare and foal tonight getting their feet taken care of. Mark can work magic on these guys and tonight I really got to see it. You won’t believe the before and afters, and he is still not done. It got to dark and so he will finish Monday. This was a long day, as the mare went down from colic. They both were dehydrated and thin. Both have lots of sand in their stomachs, and the mare has a pretty bad heart murmer. Dr. Brooks came out and we were able to put some oil in her and get her cleared up, and tonight they are doing great and now they can walk with ease.

A Tamale kiss for Domino
This is just way to cute, I had to post it. They really do need a reality show.
New Mother and son

Ok if this isn’t neglect then some one please tell me what is. How can you not see that it’s time for a stinking trim. Some times I don’t understand how some one could think that this is ok. I would like to hear back from you all on this one. What are your thoughts on this.

DOMINO DOING GREAT!
Domino is recovering from surgery beautifully! He walked out tonight on his leg like there was never an issue with a tendon. His eye has about 60% vision so it’s getting much better too.
Here’s a photo of him with his bandages being changed. He’s been such a trooper through all of this. He’s a hero in our HEARTS!

Streakin Kitty Racing, now, and then

Can you tell me what’s wrong with this picture? This is how we thank these horses for entertaining us. Just my opinion but who ever dumped her in the desert should face charges. I would like to hear your thoughts on this, so please let us know your opinion.

Domino’s surgery

Domino arrived in Gilbert this morning at 8:30 am. Arizona Equine’s Dr. Tayler and Dr. Stewart took very good care of him. He was in surgery by 9:30 and it was all done by 11:30. They fixed the tendons in his right leg, and fixed his hernia. Domino was so brave, and trusting. He is still at the hospital and will remain there for a few days. We get to bring him home this Saturday. Dr. Tayler said that everything went well and he should grow up to be a happy healthy horse with no restrictions. One month of stall rest and just hand walking for him, then we can see how well he does. I am going to miss him for the next couple of days, won’t be the same around here with out getting to watch the Domino, Tamale show. lol

2 More Babies and Their Mothers Saved
We got another call yesterday on 2 more foals and their mothers in the kill pen in Phoenix. We were able to get another rescue in Phoenix to secure them, and bring them to us. It was 10 pm before they got here all safe and sound. Babies are being stripped off their mothers and left in these pens with other horses where they are stepped on, bit, kicked and often die just from not having their mothers there to protect them any more. The moms are sent to slaughter. The one we got in last night would have most likely died being that it is only one to two weeks of age and could never have made it alone. I can not stress enough how badly we need funds to rescue these babies. They have a future, if we can help them.
