  Special Thanks

Dear Friends,

We are excited to announce the ASPCA's recent grant award to HEART of Tucson in the amount of $4,000.  This grant was designated for hay and feed specifically and it has offset our January hay/feed bill by almost 50%.    With the rising cost of hay and a still-challenging economy, every little bit helps us continue to save lives of abused and neglected horses.

Did You Know?
We all know that the ASPCA is a humane organization for the prevention of cruelty to animals but did you know that the ASPCA was founded in 1866 and was the first humane organization in the Western Hemisphere?  For the past 146 years, their mission has been and continues to be "to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States."   Not only does the ASPCA work to rescue animals from abuse, it actively works in the passage of humane laws to protect animals and to share its resources with shelters nationwide.

Our relationship with the ASPCA is a new one and we look forward to working with such a tenured and preeminent organization for many years to come.

Our HEART-felt thanks to the ASPCA for recognizing the ever-challenging needs of all rescue organizations and their willingness to assist in any way they can.

Sincerely,

Judy Glore
